The event titled "Language, Culture and Identity in the Construction of National Unity" organized by our faculty was held. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt and Prof. Dr. Dilek Ergönenç took part as panelists in the program moderated by Prof. Dr. Ali Yakıcı and hosted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Arife Ece Evirgen.

Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, Dean Prof. Dr. Mahmut Selvi, Head of the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences of our Faculty Prof. Dr. İsmet Çetin, faculty members, guests and students attended the online program.

Delivering the opening speech of the program, Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız said, "Language has a living and dynamic structure. The cultural codes are transferred to new generations only through language. Language is an essential element in the formation of national unity. Common language is necessary to ensure national unity. The unity formed in language translation is very important for society." Expressing the importance of the event, Rector of our University Musa Yıldız thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, our Dean Prof. Dr. Mahmut Selvi said, "Turkish statesmen who are aware of the unifying power of Turkish have made great efforts to teach Turkish. Our faculty has been training Turkish teachers since the day it was founded. On this occasion, I would like to thank those who contributed to the realization of the event."

Speaking at the opening, Prof. Dr. İsmet Çetin, Head of the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences of our Faculty, gave information about language, culture and identity and thanked everyone who contributed to the realization of the event.

After the opening speeches, the panel was moderated by Prof. Dr. Ali Yakıcı. After the question-and-answer session, the event ended with our Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Yasin Ünsal drawing attention to the importance of the event and his thanks.
